I really feel like this scene is important. Not just because of Bucky shooting Tony in the face, but because this looks an awful lot like Winter Soldier Bucky, not “you used to put newspapers in your shoes” Bucky. We give Tony a lot of flack for what he’s doing in this movie, but look at this. Is this his first interaction with Bucky? If so, he’s not seeing Steve’s childhood friend or a tortured victim. He’s seeing the Winter Soldier, who murdered countless people and put Steve in a freaking hospital. (And how many times has that happened?)

It isn’t so much that I agree with Tony, but if this is the first time he’s meeting Bucky, I can at least understand why he’s doing what he’s doing. Because this is a Bucky with a murderous glint in his eyes and no hesitation when he pulled the trigger. This is not the same Bucky we see later, poised carefully behind Steve, ready to protect his friend.

It makes me hopefully that we really will get to see Bucky go back and forth while trying to undo decades of mind control.
