THIS IS ACTUALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT.
NO BUT SERIOUSLY. MARTHA IS SO FUCKING HONEST THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SERIES. She loves the Doctor, but he didn’t love her back. And instead of being upset about that, she accepted it. People are allowed to love or not love whoever the fuck they want. And instead of spending her whole life obsessive about him falling I love with her (if you look back on your childhood shows you’ll probably find a few female characters that did that throughout the show) she simply “got out” so that she could move on without hurting anyone, especially herself. We could all learn a shit load of things from Martha.
Martha is amazing. I just love her to bits.
