Here’s a random thought. Jack Harkness and River Song vs. Missy and John Hart. I want to see that happen. Or would the universe just explode?

Me, whenever anything happens on earth in Doctor Who: Has anybody called Torchwood?

top 5 gwen cooper moments

danamacleish:

Every Gwen moment is a Top 5 moment TBH so here’s some of my faves.

  1. “You’ve been hidden down here too long. Spending so much time with the alien stuff you’ve lost what it means to be human.”
  2. “Maybe you didn’t realize. You can beat, shoot, threaten, and even poison us, and we keep coming back. Stronger every time.”
  3. “You are wounded!” “Do you thing that’s gonna stop me?!”
  4. “All those times in history when there was no sign of him, I wanted to know why not. But I don’t need to ask anymore. I know the answer now. Sometimes the Doctor must look at this planet and turn away in shame.”
  5. “It is said that The Blessing reflects your own self back at you. What can you see?” “Enough guilt to last a lifetime. But that’s okay. I’m a working mother. I don’t need The Blessing tell me that.”

Seriously, Rhiannon?  Blame the victim?  I don’t think I like her.

I’ve usually heard the theory that she’s in denial about it. Or that she only saw the yelling or whatever and Ianto tried to hide the physical abuse from her. (Because when has our poor troubled cinnamon roll ever been good about going to others about his problems?)

Yep, in denial.  I think she was there when things were happening, but girls want to see their dads as heroes, so I can see her lying to herself about it.

I always think it could have been a little of both. Ianto probably tried to protect her from a lot of their Dad’s abuse, he tends to take on misery so others don’t have to. She also might have been the “favourite” so she didn’t get as much of it. And what she did see, she’s in denial about for previously discussed reasons.

I’ve always thought that it would be very likely that Ianto was abused because of him being autistic.  There are(sadly enough)a lot of parents that will abuse their autistic children and not their neurotypical children,so it could be very possible that Rhiannon didn’t experience any abuse and it was just Ianto who experienced the abuse.   Now keep in mind that I’m not trying to justify it at all(I’m autistic myself).

That’s a very good point, actually. I also have a head canon that he’s mildly Austistic and that’s probably why I relate to him so well. That definitely could have been part of it.

Actually, that headcanon is actually canon(I apologize for using the “high-functioning” slur: x).

Awesome. 🙂 Yep, if Gareth says it, then it’s canon to me, which makes me very happy.
