Jack Harkness was buried alive for 2,000 years. He kept choking on dirt, dying, then coming back to life only to choke on more dirt. over and over again for 2,000 years.
I’m not going to hate on Rory though. Really, guys, both these men did what they felt they had to do. Rory may not have died over and over, but he knew he was plastic, knew that if anything happened he was done and dead and Amy would be alone in the pandorica. He didn’t know if he’d ever be human again, but he chose to stay anyway.
Not that I’m knocking Jack’s suffering. He didn’t choose to be immortal anymore then Rory chose to be plastic.
But they were both willing to suffer for the people they cared about and loved.

I came to the Torchwood fandom very late (like, this year), so most of the fics I’ve found are years and years old. This is one of my very favorites.
Why did I think it would be a good idea to watch Children of Earth?
Because it is a good idea. Quality television right there.
Because it’s grand and epic and well worth the tears.
