Lestrade is hardly in the stories. Just really briefly. So I’d maybe ask ‘why didn’t you give a shit about him? Didn’t you care?’

What I like about Lestrade is his honesty. He is an honest copper, who generally tries. I think he finds life a bit difficult. He is not over-equipped in there (points to his head). But he has integrity and honesty and has heart. And what I really like is the lines Mark and Steven give me to say. In Hounds, he was rubbish undercover. Wearing those shades inside the pub.

I really hate my shoes. They’re grey, turn up at the front like mad pixie shoes. I do wish he was a bit brighter. That’s all, but I quite like him really.
