Indeed, as reimagined by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, Watson is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, so Freeman immediately envisaged him as someone who is ‘strong and silent and [has] nothing unnecessary about him—no fat, no extras, no vocal flourishes, no physical flourishes. He’s a man’s man. He has weight because of his experience in life and death.’

Martin Freeman on Sherlock’s Watson (x)

I had the weirdest dream this morning.

I was doing a photo shoot with Martin Freeman (as in taking the pictures). Martin was lovely and also Michael Bay was there. (I really don’t see Martin doing a Michael Bay movie but whatever.) My camera wasn’t really up to the task but I did my best and Michael Bay was apparently impressed enough to want me to come work with him on set.

I also told Michael Bay that while I loved Armageddon, Transformers sucked. He laughed.

Tiger, Can I just say that I love reading your tags on posts? Especially the ones on Martin Freeman reblogs. Those are, hands down, my favorite tags to read! Bless you lovely for saying what I’m thinking!

i feel like martin freeman is really underrated which seems weird to say because he has a huge fan base and all of his performances are always very well reviewed but he isn’t considered one of our great modern dramatic actors yet which i truly believe he should be

his style is so original and i honest to god can’t think of any other actor who gives more emotionally authentic performances or even just anybody who is better at realism in delivery/speech in general he is truly one of a kind and i can’t wait for him to get himself an emmy with fargo he is so talented and i love him so much
