I have to say…I like the idea of John being Bisexual-demi.
He can be attracted to women no problem. But with men…he needs to have that connection and bond with them.
In fact…just in my opinion, i think this fits very well with what we’ve seen so far.

The second one is how John really is inside; disheveled, hurt, angry, and close to exploding. Then he fixes his hair, straightens his coat, puts on the mask of a normal well-adjusted man, and walks out into the world pretending to be like everyone else.
