Okay, so I just finished watching Doctor Who with my dad (our Saturday tradition). I paused during this scene

And my dad is all like, “Woah, what’s that!?”

Turns out it’s Aurek-Besh from Star Wars. So my dad, being the nerd that he is, decided to translate it.

Here’s what it says

DELOREAN

A fucking Back to the Future reference inside a Star Wars reference inside a Doctor Who episode!

This is seriously the nerdiest thing I’ve seen in my life!!!

Why are protagonists so durable…

Unimportant secondary character:

Main character:
*gets violently thrown against a car*
“Hoo boy I’m gonna be feelin that in the mornin.”

And this is one of the reasons Clara thought she’d be fine, that the risk was worth taking. Because protagonists don’t die, and she has always seen herself as the protagonist of the story.

And she thought rightly. The companion’s the real protagonist of Who in its modern iteration. She just didn’t foresee being in a show that’s all about constantly destroying everything that it is to be reborn again.

Anyway, I desperately need a meta Clara story of her directly seeing herself in Doctor Who sometime (and having an existential crisis at not being the title character). Probably involving Jane Austen, because authory bi goodness.
