I was talking with @theartstudentyouhate about the characters of Sherlock and how I relate to them. So I figured I’d throw this up here:
For Mycroft it’s being the older sibling. It’s wanting to help but not being able to. It’s loving your family and not talking about it.
For Sherlock it’s how being smart is isolating. It’s being called a freak. It’s being surprised anyone wants to be your friend. It’s the never quite knowing how to act in social situations.
For John it’s the anger just under the surface. It’s also the sense of duty, the need to care for others while ignoring your own issues.
For Greg it’s loyalty, it’s believing in someone even when they don’t believe in themselves. It’s being willing to listen and also being willing to push.
for Molly it’s being underestimated and overlooked. It’s fighting for your position and not letting the world tell you otherwise.
