Does anyone know what this instrument is called? Its like a Marimba but it is very large and made out of huge stones. Listen to that tone! haha Love it!

It’s a type of Vietnamese lithophone (literally rock sound instrument) called a đàn đá. Some ethnomusicologists think that these are likely the oldest type of man made instrument.

she looks like shes having fun lol this is bringing me joy

so you’re telling me that rock is actually the oldest genre

mystrade-advent-calendar:

It’s not even November, but we already have fifteen participants in this year’s Mystrade Advent Calendar. Submissions will be open all the way through until the end of November, so there’s still plenty of time to decide if you’d like to be involved.

If you’re a writer, we’re welcoming anything from a sparkly festive drabble up to a 5000 word story. There’s no need to produce a masterpiece – so long as it’s Christmas-themed, it’s Mystrade, it’s complete and it’s new for the calendar, we’d be delighted to have you with us.

You can read more details on submissions here – or if you’re looking for some early inspiration, we’ve got something to help you out: take a look!

@acrushedrosestillwins are you ready to start?

Yayayayay let’s have an even better advent than last year (which was amazing)!!!

I’m in! I’m so in!

“I’m good at building things.
Probably.“

my favourite scene of the episode #this is perfect #I love that this screams COMPETENCE #she doesn’t exactly wander around aimlessly which is quite unusual for a post-regeneration story #she is extremely efficient #I don’t want to go into a feminist reading of the episode #but this was a clever way of sticking it to sexist people who still think women are not as strong or as smart #a sequence entirely dedicated to her genius and strength (via @onaperduamedee)
