okay but Missy’s blatant fear at the end of the Magician’s Apprentice is fascinating
because her bargain with the Daleks, on the surface, could look like just her being being the evil little shit that she is (which is stupidly what I thought when I first watched it), when obviously it is her trying to get in with the group with more power, but there’s even more to it than that
in her current incarnation, we’ve never seen her scared before, not even a little bit, until she realises that she’s on Skaro (which is the stuff of her nightmares), and her voice goes soft and funny while her eyes are screaming – she even takes a few steps back from the city out of pure reflex, shaking her head all the while
I mean, when she and Clara are taken inside, she’s tense as all hell, fidgeting and shifting her weight with her eyes darting around constantly, which again is totally new for her, and then the moment she gets the chance she jumps in and starts bargaining, so completely terrified that she without a second thought throws any regard for Clara or even the Doctor out of the window and immediately goes back to her primary setting which is stay the fuck alive
which means putting on the bravado, tickling a Dalek and making an enticing little speech and a dramatic pose all because, inside, she’s panicking on a whole new level because she’s so fucking scared
idk maybe this is dumb and obvious I just find it really really interesting like the whole thing is just the Master down to a T and Michelle acts it so fucking beautifully I just love it so much
reblog if you think animation, photography, theatre, music, image editing, video editing, and creative writing are all forms of art
the amount of people that think these aren’t art forms angers me
Feminist criticism isn’t about ripping something to shreds or making others feel guilty for liking it. It’s simply about pointing out a specific creative weakness and then taking that a step further to explain the real-world social ramifications of that weakness, all in the hopes of dissuading future filmmakers from making the same mistake.
“But Miri!” you might protest. “This article is wrong because some feminists do rip things to shreds and claim that I’m a bad person if I enjoy those things!”
“Well!” I might respond. “I disagree with those people, but I didn’t birth them and therefore am not responsible for their actions and opinions.”

Isn’t it funny how the media is determined to paint us the fans as delusional, one-track-minded suckers, and yet apparently all they can think to ask Martin Freeman, one of the most well-known and successful actors currently working, is when was the last time he spoke to Benedict Cumberbatch; something that has nothing to do with anything and that frankly no-one (including Martin) cares about.
And by ‘funny’ I mean ‘dumb as shit’.
gif isn’t mine, but did a quick edit.
‘Sin in the TARDIS’ aka ‘dammit Jack not again we have other rooms for that why did it have to be in the control room
why didn’t you invite me’
nI was tagged by doctorbillyposts to list 5 things that make me happy right now:
1. Doctor who – I’m happy with how things are going right now, and while I’m always wary about it, at least for the moment that was a solid opener and I’m hoping for a satisfactory conclusion.
2. People who read my fics – I’ve got some amazing feed back on my last one. I love all of you and it means so much to me that ya’ll like what I write.
3. Fall – It’s been a hot summer and I’m looking forward to cooler weather and a change in the air.
4. Shut up and Dance – it’s a cheesy song maybe, but damn if it doesn’t just put a smile on my face every time.
5. My friends – Things have been rough of late, but I’m so glad for my friends and all their support through everything.
says tag the last 5 people on your notes from your activity so I’m a gonna tag: @endellionaeternus, darkestelemental616, @thefiddleronyourroof, weartweedeveryday and dozmuffinxc
