An official (like a district attorney type) in Philadelphia was just found guilty for selling black boys to his friend who owns a private prison for cash. This is very real.
It was a judge. Mark Ciavarella is his name & he was sentenced 28 years in jail for his role as a finder. He sent over 4000 kids to jail as part of the Kids for Cash scheme, more than 3000 of which eventually had their convictions expunged. Sadly one of his victims committed suicide, others display significant symptoms of PTSD. He sent kids who had committed no crimes at all away for months, and to date has shown no real remorse. He was paid well, and while he’ll have to pay restitution nothing can ever undo the damage he did.
