Burying Jim Moriarty is the hardest thing John Watson’s ever had to do. He visits the grave daily, any excuse to brush his fingers over the black marble stone. There, he feels like Jim’s not really gone. Like he’ll wake up at any moment like he’s caught in a bad dream. What he doesn’t count on is Jim waking up – and seeking out the doctor he loves. Wet soil gives way and Jim crawls out of the earth with the single-minded purpose to return to their shared flat, as if he never killed himself. As if he never left.
