For Sherlock fanfic purposes, could anyone explain the UK justice system to me in terms of someone accused of murder? LIke would they be allowed out on bail or simply held until trial? How does the process work? I know slim to none about the UK system other than our US system is at least a little bit based on it. Any help would be appreciated.
