Ahahaha, I don’t dread it at all — in fact, it’s hard to shut me up about it. 🙂
It’s a scholarly edition of an extremely important and influential early twentieth-century mystery novel that has now been out of print for several decades.
It was originally published serially in the Telegraph, so I’m doing a new transcription, annotations, scholarly intro, author bio, timelines, and sourcing the original illustrations.
This is probably going to sound pretentious, but I’ve been researching this author for almost 10 years, and she’s completely wonderful and inspiring — and now almost completely forgotten. I feel so honoured that I can help keep her work in print. I feel like I’m doing right by one of my (professional, artistic, political, personal) heroes.
This sounds completly awesome to me !
