I’m a fanfic author. I really, really want people to read my stuff. I do. But at the same time, I don’t. And I certainly don’t want to ask them to. Like “Heeeeey, lookit me, I made story!” because I’ll seem like a pathetic lunatic. I have panic attacks about wanting to be the kind of writer that people get excited to see updated something, but I feel like I’m that “Oh, no, why doesn’t she give up” girl. Ya dig?

Well, anon, all I can tell you is that you don’t know if you don’t try. Don’t try to measure up to anyone else but yourself. Some fics you pour everything into get barely a handful of hits, while others you dash off in an hour might get tons. Also, especially with fanfic, if you’ve got people you trust that are into what you’re writing, don’t be afraid to go “hey, I wrote this thing, would you mind taking a look?” Be willing to listen to *constructive* criticism, but don’t let the negative get you down either.

So whomever you are, I hope you do give it a try. It can be very rewarding!

Rather then completely spamming all of you with pics, here’s a link to my Dallas Comic Con 2013 set on Flickr. Photos were taken by myself and my roommate (taladraco):

i like your trainers.

Heh, I’ve got bad knees and with all the standing and walking I wasn’t going to mess myself up by wearing boots all day. And I’m still sore, but it was so so worth it.
