Texas Gov. Perry calls 2nd special session on abortion

APTexas Gov. Rick Perry is calling for the Texas Legislature to meet in a second special session to pass a bill that would add restrictions on abortion.

The first effort to pass the bill died overnight after Democratic Sen. Wendy Davis’ 12-hour filibuster effort and disruptions during Senate proceedings as the session closed.

The announcement gives Republicans another crack at passing sweeping anti-abortion rules that would close nearly all clinics performing the procedure in the country’s second-largest state. …

Perry can call as many 30-day extra sessions as he likes, but lawmakers can only take up those issues he assigns.

it’s not over, folks

GUYS IT’S NOT OVER.  BRACE YOURSELVES.

FOR FUCK’S SAKE.

This doesn’t surprise me. Texas government is purposely screwy. It was designed that way on purpose post civil war to ensure that Reconstruction would fail here. Or at least slow it down

If you do not know what this picture is; let me inform you. In the late 50’s when abortion was completely illegal, women would resort to using household items to have a self-given abortion. These items included bleach, wire hangers, and cleaning products. So, would you rather save unborn cells, like the ones that come off your feet or body, millions at a time, or save a woman who might end up curing a life-threatening disease? Do we really wanna step 60 years back?

I love this photo so much.
