These early findings suggest that <strong>groups are like mind-altering substances<\/strong>. If the group thinks the answer is A, you\u2019re much more likely to believe that A is correct, too. It\u2019s not that you\u2019re saying consciously, \u201cHmm, I\u2019m not sure, but they all think the answer\u2019s A, so I\u2019ll go with that.\u201d Nor are you saying, \u201cI want them to like me, so I\u2019ll just pretend that the answer\u2019s A.\u201d No, <strong>you are doing something much more unexpected\u2014and dangerous<\/strong>.
