When he flees the destruction of his home planet &#8211; and the death of his two spouses &#8211; he finds himself on a strange restrictive planet filled with humans who have bizarre notions of who he is allowed to desire and what he should find fascinating and satisfying based on his <i>genitals<\/i>. Kalp eventually enters into a romantic and sexual relationship with two humans, over the course of the book.<\/p>\n<h2>Basil Grey &#8211; Bisexual, Polyamorous<\/h2>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/192fe7211cde0db0ab97b52baec69918\/tumblr_inline_o8vn77jZoB1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mPhW-v2TmoB3s9JuSXiSjhg\" target=\"_blank\">@reapersun<\/a>\u200b<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Basil Grey is a Geek Everyman with a wide-open heart from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Triptych-J-M-Frey-ebook\/dp\/B004SHJ3SG?ie=UTF8&amp;ref_=asap_bc\" target=\"_blank\">Triptych<\/a>. He had never considered whether he was straight or not simply because everyone he\u2019d ever fall in love with (or had a crush on) were female. However, he slowly falls in love with Kalp over the course of their friendship. When the alien proposes to expand his relationship with his girlfriend Gwen to include Kalp, Basil is game for giving it a try. The threesome eventually end up marrying.<\/p>\n<h2>Gwen Pierson &#8211; Heterosexual, Polyamorous<\/h2>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/74d43dcbcdbb1d2fc57a363410abc5c2\/tumblr_inline_o8vn7i1gPs1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mPhW-v2TmoB3s9JuSXiSjhg\" target=\"_blank\">@reapersun<\/a>\u200b<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Gwen Pierson is the third in the triptych of lovers from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Triptych-J-M-Frey-ebook\/dp\/B004SHJ3SG?ie=UTF8&amp;ref_=asap_bc\" target=\"_blank\">Triptych<\/a>. A bit of a grump, cynical, tough, and realistic, Gwen nevertheless has a great capacity for love and genuinely revels in the powerfully memorable domestic moments that she has with her partners. She is far more reluctant to open up her relationship with Basil to include Kalp, mostly because she fears losing his friendship if the relationship doesn\u2019t work out. She doesn\u2019t believe in the maxim\u00a0\u201cIt is better to have love and lost than never to have loved at all,\u201d because that just sounds so painful. She\u2019d rather stick with the safe and reliable. In the end, though, she\u2019s happy with the development in their relationship, adores the sex, and is selfishly smug about being the wife of two big-hearted and attentive people whom she in turn loves deeply and gluttonously.<\/p>\n<h2>Kintyre Turn &#8211;<br \/>\nBisexual<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/be3a0682dd0954273cb1b63bde42037a\/tumblr_inline_o8vn7ujSEH1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mAu9T0ETNi--qG3tBSnHdoQ\" target=\"_blank\">@inchells<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Kintyre Turn is the<br \/>\nhero of <a href=\"http:\/\/elgarreed.com\/bibliography\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>The Tales of Kintyre Turn<\/i> by<br \/>\nElgar Reed<\/a>, which is the book-within-a-book in <a href=\"http:\/\/jmfrey.net\/?s=the+accidental+turn+series\" target=\"_blank\">The Accidental Turn Series<\/a>. He<br \/>\nis bold, brawny, brash, brave, and a bit of an arrogant buffon. His traveling<br \/>\ncompanion and loyal scribe, Bevel Dom, has been by his side for fourteen years,<br \/>\nand during that time Kintyre has tumbled in and out of the beds of Damsels,<br \/>\nPrincess, and Pirate Queens. These affairs were often curated by Bevel, and<br \/>\nsometimes he even joined in. When that happened, it always sort of accidentally<br \/>\nended up that Bevel and Kintyre were the ones making love, and the proxy woman<br \/>\ngot up and left in an ignored huff. It took fifteen years for Kintyre to be able<br \/>\nto work his way through the toxic masculinity he was mired in enough to realize<br \/>\nthat he actually loved Bevel, enjoyed sex with him, and wanted to be in a real<br \/>\nand lasting, <i>healthy <\/i>relationship<br \/>\nwith his best friend. By the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Untold-Tale-Accidental-Turn-Book-ebook\/dp\/B01851NNZY?ie=UTF8&amp;ref_=asap_bc\" target=\"_blank\">The Untold Tale<\/a>, the two heroes have<br \/>\ncleared the air and pledged their troth to one another, living opening as a<br \/>\ncouple.<\/p>\n<h2>Bevel Dom &#8211; Gay<\/h2>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/ccc9619816b5672c9f58888899b3af13\/tumblr_inline_o8vn886kCQ1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mAu9T0ETNi--qG3tBSnHdoQ\" target=\"_blank\">@inchells<\/a>\u200b<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The narrator of <a href=\"http:\/\/elgarreed.com\/bibliography\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>The Tales of Kintyre Turn<\/i>,<\/a> Bevel lives<br \/>\nin a fantasy realm where the love between men is supposed to be brotherly, macho,<br \/>\nand platonic. He is sixteen when he first meets Kintyre, and doesn\u2019t understand<br \/>\nwhy he is so attracted to the arrogant Lord\u2019s son. He becomes first Kintyre\u2019s<br \/>\nSquire, then his Sidekick, then a fellow Knight, all the while being Kintyre\u2019s<br \/>\nclosest friend and chronicler. Eventually he realizes that his love for Kintyre<br \/>\nis more lustful and romantic then it\u2019s supposed to be; he willingly sets up<br \/>\ntrysts for Kintyre (and joins in) because it\u2019s the only time he can act on his melancholy<br \/>\ndesire. Eventually, Kintyre and Bevel work through their emotional<br \/>\nconstipation, realize their love for each other, and become as close to married<br \/>\nas this repressed realm allows for. Bevel is blissfully happy, though he wishes<br \/>\nthey could have a child. \u00a0 <\/p>\n<h2>The Prince \u2013<br \/>\nHeterosexual, Transgendered<\/h2>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/0f09d2d7ac987ea833cc1c0225308a8a\/tumblr_inline_o8vn8mY5bh1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mEt2tu3CIDscZ-qYln_e6DA\" target=\"_blank\">@archiaart<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The protagonist of<br \/>\nmy erotica novel<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Lips-Like-Ice-Peggy-Barnett\/dp\/1613901305\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1466096844&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=peggy+barnett\" target=\"_blank\"> Lips Like Ice<\/a>, The Prince is an alien on the verge of sexual<br \/>\nmaturity. In his species, adolescents can choose which biological sex they want<br \/>\nto develop as, and against all societal norms and mores, The Prince chooses to<br \/>\nbecome male. This causes him no end of abuse and misgendering in the court, and<br \/>\nleads to his father trying to bully him into becoming female by providing him with<br \/>\na pet that is meant to encourage his nurturing, feminine side. However, the pet<br \/>\nis more intelligent than The Prince thought, and together they escape the<br \/>\ncourt, find happiness and love, and acceptance.<\/p>\n<h2>Lydia \u2013 Bisexual<\/h2>\n<figure><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/ba37fc01884df0785e55da4ddb7becbb\/tumblr_inline_o8vn8yttT21r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Art by <a href=\"https:\/\/tmblr.co\/mEt2tu3CIDscZ-qYln_e6DA\" target=\"_blank\">@archiaart<\/a>\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Lydia is \u201cthe pet\u201d<br \/>\nof <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Lips-Like-Ice-Peggy-Barnett\/dp\/1613901305\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1466096844&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=peggy+barnett\" target=\"_blank\">Lips Like Ice<\/a>. She mentions her bisexuality just briefly, as she\u2019s<br \/>\nexplaining to the Prince that on Earth, his desire to match his biological sex<br \/>\nto his internal gender would not be so horrific and shocking. She teaches The<br \/>\nPrince to accept himself as he is, to fight for his right to be male, and to<br \/>\nlove himself when no one else, save her, seems to love him. Eventually they escape<br \/>\nthe oppressive and bigoted court together, and have their own Happily Ever After.<\/p>\n<h2>The Narrator &#8211; Lesbian<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/cc2bcf73c746c3a4b67c07485846f711\/tumblr_inline_o8vn9dUJ1f1r7bhxd_540.jpg\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><i>Art found on Pinterest. I couldn\u2019t find the credit.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The narrator of my<br \/>\nshort <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Tesseracts-Eighteen-Wrestling-Gods-Liana\/dp\/1770530681\/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Moral of the Story\u201d from\u00a0\u201cWrestling With Gods\u201d <\/a>is a lesbian,<br \/>\nand I hesitated to add her to this list because she dies. (That\u2019s not really a<br \/>\nspoiler.) And I didn\u2019t want to promote one more Dead Lesbian. But she doesn\u2019t<br \/>\ndie <i>because<\/i> she\u2019s a lesbian, so\u2026<br \/>\nanyway. This is a tale of survival in a post-electronics world, where the magic<br \/>\nhas returned in order to heal the planet after humans have made the icecaps<br \/>\nmelt and wreaked environmental havoc.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0<i>do\u00a0<\/i>have a lesbian romance with<br \/>\na Happily Ever After in the works, but it\u2019s unfortunately not ready to be<br \/>\nannounced yet. Soon though! I hope!\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>The Secret Loves of Geek Girls<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/924652fe0e422a7126c4cbdd60808200\/tumblr_inline_o8vgzhSFRT1r7bhxd_540.png\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Not technically all mine, and not actually fiction, but this great non-fiction book is filled with confessionals, essays (like my own\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/scifrey.tumblr.com\/post\/139051255659\/scifrey-how-fanfiction-made-me-gayby-jm-frey\" target=\"_blank\">How Fanfiction Made Me Gay<\/a>\u201d), funny stories, comics, and tales of women from a wide variety of sexualities, gender expressions, ages, cultures, and ethnicities.<\/p>\n<p>I have other LGBTQA+ characters sprinkled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jmfrey.net\/books\" target=\"_blank\">throughout my short stories and forthcoming novels and screenplays<\/a>, as well.
