I\u2019m so glad\u00a0my post<\/a>\u00a0helped.\u00a0 There are so many different combinations out there in the world that are valid life-partnerships that aren\u2019t just the male\/female, live-in, sex-based, child-rearing examples we\u2019ve all grown up being told are the norm.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to find them, and usually you have to break the mold all by yourself, which is both frightening and inhibiting.<\/p>\n

The benefit of an actual demonstration that something different works for other people is incalculable.<\/i><\/p>\n

And I just want to point out, again, that mine and my husband\u2019s relationship is intimate:\u00a0 we literally share our lives<\/i>.\u00a0 We talk about our days and our thoughts and feelings and the news and the kids and all the various things that entertain us.\u00a0 I know how he thinks;\u00a0 when he\u2019s happy, when he\u2019s stressed, what tickles him and what irritates him\u2026 and he knows all this for me as well.\u00a0 We can rely on one another completely (which is very nice when someone gets sick or hurt!).\u00a0 We love and trust and respect one another.\u00a0 There is SO MUCH MORE to a partnership than sex.\u00a0 There really is.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s been twenty years of marriage now. We\u2019re partners, we support one another and that\u2019s good enough. <\/p>\n

As far as I know, neither I nor my hubby are asexual, but somehow along the line we\u2019ve just sorta stopped having sex. We\u2019ve never really talked about it, it just sort of naturally happened due to the nature of our schedules and, I suppose, getting older. Like you said there are plenty of ways to be intimate with being physical. <\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
