Of course it\u2019s Martha.<br \/> \u201cDoctor,\u201d she says, \u201cShe remembered.\u201d<br \/> His hearts catch in his chest.<br \/><em>No <\/em>&#8211; he thinks &#8211; <em>no<\/em>, the defense mechanism was supposed to keep her <em>safe<\/em>. And now it\u2019s one more thing he won\u2019t be able to forgive himself for.<br \/> \u201cIs she &#8211;\u00a0?\u201d He chokes on the next word.<br \/> \u201cOh no. <em>No<\/em>. Doctor, she\u2019s fine,\u201d Martha quickly assures him, \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened but she\u2019s fine. Her brain hasn\u2019t exploded. She\u2019s okay.\u201d<br \/><em>She\u2019s okay.\u00a0<\/em><br \/> He doesn\u2019t know what to say, except to repeat to himself, <em>She\u2019s okay. Donna\u2019s okay. She\u2019s okay.<\/em><br \/> \u201cShe\u2019s waiting for you, Doctor,\u201d Martha tells him, and adds, after a few moments, with that quiet, uncanny intelligence he always wishes he\u2019d been more openly appreciative about, \u201cYou can come back now.
