It\u2019s a very brief shot in the film, hardly means anything other than showing \u201cCommander John Harrison\u2019s\u201d Starfleet file.<\/p>\n<p>But in reality, this is Khan\u2019s mugshot. It was most likely what he looked like soon after Admiral Marcus pulled him out of cryosleep. He\u2019d probably just learned that Marcus would kill any number of his crew should he step out of line.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, it\u2019s too early on for him to find a way out. He\u2019s trapped, tired, confused by all the new technology 260 years into the future. And he knows he\u2019s being used. He doesn\u2019t have a choice.<\/p>\n<p>My absolute favorite thing about this shot is you can see all of that on his face.
