You see, this is how it starts. \u00a0<\/p>\n

You\u2019re cruising your dash and you see \u2018one of those three\u2019. \u00a0The big Kahunas. \u00a0Sherlock. \u00a0Doctor Who. \u00a0And then there\u2019s that one fandom. \u00a0The fandom with the gif for everything. \u00a0The two brothers and the angel. \u00a0There it is, shining in all it\u2019s glory.<\/p>\n

SUPERNATURAL<\/p>\n

You think to yourself, \u201cI have too many shows. \u00a0Too many OTPs. \u00a0Too many feels. \u00a0I don\u2019t need any more.\u201d<\/p>\n

But you keep seeing it on your dash. \u00a0 Usually just a gifset or two every so often. \u00a0You see some of the most crazy manip\u2019ed sets ever. \u00a0(Have they really been having that much sex on this show? \u00a0How far have they really driven?)The fandom where other fandoms sit and wait for them to show up. \u00a0The fandom with over 7 million hits on a photo of a guy in tight red gym shorts.<\/p>\n

And then you see these fics. \u00a0They start appearing. \u00a0One by one. \u00a0And they\u2019re short maybe. \u00a0So you read one. \u00a0It\u2019s tagged \u201cDestiel\u201d. \u00a0What is this crazy portmanteau? \u00a0It\u2019s a hunter and an angel. \u00a0<\/p>\n

You read one. \u00a0It\u2019s cute. \u00a0<\/p>\n

You read another. \u00a0It guts you with the amount of feelings. \u00a0You were not prepared for this.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re curious. \u00a0Does it always hurt this much?<\/p>\n

You read another. \u00a0It\u2019s 150,000 words long.<\/p>\n

You haven\u2019t even seen an episode yet. \u00a0You\u2019re not ready for this kind of commitment. \u00a0<\/p>\n

And yet\u2026<\/p>\n

Netflix. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Netflix has 8 seasons. \u00a0And that neat new auto-play thing so you don\u2019t even have click to the next episode. \u00a0It just plays and plays.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve succumbed. \u00a0It\u2019s only 8 seasons, and you need something to keep you company while Sherlock and Doctor Who are hiatus, and you\u2019re not ready to watch the last 22 minutes of The End of Time Part II for the seventy-first time and cry over that scene with Rose\u2026and there\u2019s no way you\u2019re touching Reichenbach with a ten-foot pole (this week anyway). \u00a0<\/p>\n

You\u2019re 43 seconds in to the pilot and the words that come out of your mouth resemble the cries of so many around you. \u00a0\u201dI\u2019m so invested!\u201d<\/p>\n

You devour episode after episode. \u00a0You break only for water, to pee, and for more tissues. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Season 1 finale; you cry. \u00a0Season 2 finale; you cry harder and weep for these two brothers. \u00a0Season 3 finale; there are no words to express your grief. \u00a0Season 4 finale; you can\u2019t believe how much your babies have grown and how their family has grown. \u00a0Season 5 finale; you understand all those\u00a0oh shit! we forgot adam<\/em>\u00a0gifsets and inside jokes. \u00a0Season 6 finale; you gasp in horror. \u00a0Season 7 finale; you smile a sad smile because this is the end of all the\u00a0Dick<\/em> jokes. \u00a0Season 8 finale; you just want to cuddle with the ones you love. \u00a0<\/p>\n

You get ahold of season 9 and BAM! \u00a0Gone in an afternoon. \u00a0But now there\u2019s another hiatus. \u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the story of your life. \u00a0Literally. \u00a0Invested in another show. \u00a0It goes away and comes back bigger and better than ever. \u00a0<\/p>\n

In the mean time? \u00a0AO3 and tag tracking. \u00a0Because that is all that\u2019s left.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
