And his even his considerable charms couldn\u2019t smooth over his character\u2019s jaw-dropping sexist comments, leering at women, and non-consensual kissing\u2014culminating in the groaningly poor regeneration episode \u201cThe Time of the Doctor,\u201d in which he essentially planted one on the Pope. Now, he apparently had had a relationship with her, but that\u2019s also a problem: Yet another powerful woman turns to putty in the Doctor\u2019s hands? It <em>is<\/em> bad fanfic. It\u2019s embarrassing, in a way, and infuriating in every other. I&rsquo;ve said this. I think Matt Smith has done the best he can, but I really don&rsquo;t like what Moffat has done.
