He\u2019s not telling John he\u2019s a high functioning sociopath, he\u2019s not telling him he\u2019s a consulting detective, he\u2019s telling John that the man he\u2019s chosen as his best friend is really just a junkie who has changed his drug from cocaine to action, and\u00a0<em>that<\/em> is just\u2026<\/p>\n<p>too much for me. \u00a0No more Mr. Detective, just Sherlock. In this scene, to me, he\u2019s admitting to John for the first time ever that he is human. Because he\u2019s not indestructible, he\u2019s not unbreakable, he\u2019s just a human who is really really good at pretending to be.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oooh nice. I can hear @eldritch-horrors grumbling about \u2018junkie\u2019 in my head (where is eldriiiitchh\u2026) but this just fell into an \u2018of course!\u2019 mental space with a satisfying thunk.
