#ten bucks dean is a dick and kicks it around like a soccer ball<\/a><\/p>\n

[Like I\u2019m supposed to resist that\u2026]<\/p>\n

After that incident, things were somewhat peaceful\u2026at least as quiet as they could be with two Winchesters and a head that really should be coming back a lot faster than it was.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sam went out to get some dinner for them while Dean stayed behind to clean their weapons. He was only gone for ten minutes\u2014long enough to walk down to the nearest McDonald\u2019s and grab a carryout bag\u2014but when he came back\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cDean<\/em>! What the\u00a0fuck<\/em> are you doing?!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dean looked at him innocently. \u201cRelaxin\u2019. Thought I\u2019d try playing soccer, since you seemed to like it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNot<\/em> with that!\u201d Sam snatched Jack\u2019s head off the floor, frankly shocked by Dean\u2019s blatant disrespect for the guy who\u2019d pulled their asses out of the fire more than once.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Why not?"\u00a0<\/p>\n

"Because it\u2019s his\u00a0head<\/em>, Dean!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

"He\u2019s dead! What the hell\u2019s he gonna care?"\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sam\u2019s lips thinned as he tried not to punch his brother. \u201c\u2026Is this because he slept with me?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

"\u2026No!” Dean\u2019s eyes flicked downwards. Lying.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cReally<\/em>, Dean?\u201d Sam threw the greasy bag at him, hard enough that Dean barely caught it. \u201cI\u2019m not letting him out of my sight again. Asshole.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0#and then Sam ends up sleeping with it just to make SURE Dean doesn\u2019t go messing with it<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dean stumbled into the motel room smelling like bar. Normally he wouldn\u2019t bother with a light, but this time he does, staring at his little brother\u2019s form in the bed.<\/p>\n

“Dude! What the actual fuck?”<\/p>\n

Sam sits up and the head rolls onto the floor. He guiltily reaches for it, but Dean\u2019s faster. \u201cAlas, poor Yorick\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

“Not funny!” Sam grabs it from him and holds it close to his chest.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s not coming back,” grumbles Dean, heading for the bathroom. “Give it up.”<\/p>\n

Sam opened his mouth to say something really hurtful, but bit it back and looked at the cold face instead.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

*chants something about a collab between you two while eating some popcorn. THOROUGHLY ENJOYING THIS*<\/p>\n

Sam lost the head hunting a werewolf a week later. He\u2019d left it in the room, and they\u2019d ended up staying out all night trying to find the monster. By the time they\u2019d managed to stumble back to the motel, bloody and exhausted, Sam\u2019s bed showed clear signs of disturbance and the bag he\u2019d kept Jack\u2019s head in was ripped wide open.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Jack?!” He ran over to his bed, exhaustion forgotten as he tore the covers aside, trying to find any sign of Jacks\u2019s remains. “Dean! His head\u2019s gone!"\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dean, hard as he tried, couldn\u2019t muster up the energy to care as much as Sam clearly did. \u201cDude. We\u2019re both hurt. Let\u2019s focus on that, then we start looking, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sam just stared at him. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0Jack<\/em>. When he comes back, he\u2019s gonna\u00a0need<\/em> us to be there. Don\u2019t you care about that?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

"For God\u2019s sake, Sam, focus on\u00a0us<\/em> first! Salt line\u2019s not broken, and the sigils are still in one piece, so whatever it was, it\u2019s probably nothing dangerous. We\u2019re gonna run a sweep, rest up, and look\u00a0later<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sam\u2019s lips thinned. He said nothing more as he picked up his shotgun and headed back out of the door, slamming it behind him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dean stared at the door. With a sigh he wiped his hands on his pants and collected their bags. It didn’t take too long to find Sam angrily walking down the side of the road. Of course nobody was going to pick him up this time of night and looking like that.<\/p>\n

"Come on, Dude, get in the car.”<\/p>\n

Sam ignored him and kept walking as Dean drove slowly along.<\/p>\n

“Look,” Dean ran a hand through his hair. “He always come back, right? He memorized your number. He’ll call.”<\/p>\n

Sam turned towards him, furious. “Yeah, he’ll call when he’s screaming in pain as his body tries to put itself back together.”<\/p>\n

Dean was surprised, Jack had never really told him much about himself. “Is it that bad?”<\/p>\n
