A big freakin\u2019 deal. So he can\u2019t even bring himself to expressing his displeasure at having his house hijacked by a bunch of foreign strangers without adding an apologetic disclaimer. This is the face of a hobbit who has been pushed to frustration, and that\u2019s pretty damn rare.<\/p>\n<p>Then Dwarves. They\u2019re tough as nails and hard around the edges. It takes a hell of a lot to offend them, and even more than that to admit your own guff and apologize\u2014 so when somebody does apologize, you take it seriously. Even if you weren\u2019t actually listening to whatever preceded that apology. Even if you don\u2019t think it was worth apologizing for. That shit is serious business, and you take it seriously, yo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is culture clash at its finest, reduced to two words.<\/p>\n<p>In short: Peter Jackson\u2019s a genius.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It <em>is<\/em> really good writing, but I just want to emphasise that Peter Jackson does not write these scripts alone. He has two collaborators,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0909638\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fran Walsh<\/a>\u00a0(who is also his wife) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0101991\/?ref_=sr_1\" target=\"_blank\">Philippa Boyens<\/a>, and the three of them also wrote the screenplays for the\u00a0<em>Lord of the Rings\u00a0<\/em>trilogy together.
