Dean gulped. He\u2019d been lucky enough to miss Jack\u2019s resurrections, so he knew next to nothing about it, and his and Sam\u2019s had always been instantaneous. But Jack\u2019s weren\u2019t, and between the two of them, Sam was the expert.<\/p>\n

“Okay, I get the point. Get in the car,” he said hoarsely. “We\u2019re getting back to the hotel and getting cleaned up and packed, and then we\u2019re gonna find Jack."\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jack finally found himself dragged back to consciousness, oddly pain-free and almost warm.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"\u2026Sam?”<\/p>\n

“Not exactly.” A young brunette leaned over him, smiling gently. “You can call me Eve, actually.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jack started to sit up and found himself cuffed. \u201cWell that\u2019s not usually how I start a relationship.\u201d He looked past her and frowned at the\u2026.people? creatures?<\/p>\n

“Where am I? What do you want with me? Where are the Winchesters?”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Eve stroked Jack\u2019s cheek thoughtfully. \u201cMy children thought you were one of us. You\u2019re not, but you almost\u00a0could<\/em> be. Who are the Winchesters?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

A slight shudder went through the group of creatures behind her, but they remained silent, feigning ignorance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Looks like you should ask your friends there. They\u2019re friends of mine though, so if you know what\u2019s good for you, you should probably just let me go, lady.” Jack gave her a dark smile<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“They\u2019re only human,” a vampire said roughly. “Our Mother will crush them easily."\u00a0<\/p>\n

"See? They\u2019re not important.” Eve gave him a sweet little grin. “But I\u2019d\u00a0love<\/em> to know just what you are, you fascinating creature.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

"Just a human,” smiled Jack.“Nothing that special.”<\/p>\n

She moved swiftly, stabbing him in the chest.<\/p>\n
