A Moment’s Respite<\/a> –\u00a0Lost after Sherlock’s suicide, John takes refuge for a night with Greg Lestrade.<\/p>\n teaser below the cut<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It had been nearly a year since Sherlock had jumped and things weren’t any easier. John moved through his days, did what he had to do, but it was like part of him was gone forever and the sun had gone out.<\/p>\n So when Greg asked him out for drinks, his first thought was to turn him down, but figuring he had nothing else to lose, he met the DI at a pub. Greg steered the conversation away from painful subjects for the first few pints and for the first time in a long while, John started to really relax.<\/p>\n A few pints after that, John became aware of Greg\u2019s hand on his knee. He smiled at him. \u201cThis wasn’t all a ploy to take advantage, was it?\u201d<\/p>\n Greg pulled his hand back. \u201cCertainly not…I\u2019m just worried about you.\u201d<\/p>\n John grabbed his hand and put it on his own thigh. \u201cI\u2019m okay with this. I…haven\u2019t been with anyone, since\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Squeezing, Greg leaned forward. \u201cWe are both drunk.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t care. Your place?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy cars parked \u2018round back. I\u2019m no shape to drive, though.\u201d Greg watched him.<\/p>\n \u201cSo like teenagers then, fine by me.\u201d John got up unsteadily and led the way out<\/p>\n
