Iconic scenes from most wedding ceremonies on film. That look of hope, joy, love, delight, awe, possession. Oh wait\u2026we did get that scene. But it was in TEH after Sherlock and John reunite. This was my exact thought upon my first viewing of TEH. Not only that, but in TSoT, Sherlock is equated with the bride a lot. Just off the top of my head &#8211; we have a proposal of sorts that we actually see (as opposed to the one in TEH which was interrupted and never finished) between Sherlock and John. We see John placed lower than Sherlock, similar to when one person is proposing, as they are traditionally kneeling in front of the other. John asks (as he himself calls it) \u201cthe big question\u201d, gives declaration of love (where he makes it a point to equate his love for Sherlock to his love for the person he\u2019s marrying), and we have a completely stunned and speechless Sherlock in return.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"tmblr-full\"><img alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/890183a69e5ac66acacd64ce19ec8c99\/tumblr_inline_pamjtd8vdr1rw8a11_540.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Then, after the waltz, Sherlock tosses his\u00a0boutonniere to Janine, whereas in a wedding, a bride will toss her bouquet to a group of single women for one of them to catch. Afterward, Sherlock\u00a0makes a direct comparison to John and Mary\u2019s wedding vows when he makes his own vow that night in front of everyone in attendance. His vow says, \u201cWhatever it takes, whatever happens, from now on I swear I will always be there.
