Is the number of donuts better than the entire donut mass as a whole?<\/p>\n<p>Hrm.<\/p>\n<p>HRM.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A round donut with radius R<sub>1<\/sub> occupies the same space as a square donut with side 2R<sub>1<\/sub>. If the center circle of a round donut has a radius R<sub>2<\/sub> and the hole of a square donut has a side 2R<sub>2<\/sub>, then the area of a round donut is \u03c0R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup> &#8211; \u03c0r<sub>2<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup>. The area of a square donut would be then 4R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup> &#8211; 4R<sub>2<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup>. This doesn\u2019t say much, but in general and\u00a0 throwing numbers, a full box of square donuts has more donut per donut than a full box of round donuts.<\/p>\n<p>The interesting thing is knowing exactly how much more donut per donut we have. Assuming first a small center hole (<span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>2<\/sub><\/span> = <span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><\/span>\/4) and replacing in the proper expressions, we have a 27,6% more donut in the square one (Round: 15<span class=\"texhtml\">\u03c0<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup>\/16\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">\u2243 2,94<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span>, square: 15<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span>\/4 = 3,75<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/span>). Now, assuming a large center hole (<span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>2<\/sub> = 3<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><\/span>\/4) we have a 27,7% more donut in the square one (<span class=\"texhtml\">Round: 7<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">\u03c0<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup>\/16\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\">\u2243 1,37<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span>, square: 7<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span>\/4 = 1,75<\/span><span class=\"texhtml\"><span class=\"texhtml\">R<sub>1<\/sub><sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/span>). This tells us that, approximately, we\u2019ll have a 27% bigger donut if it\u2019s square than if it\u2019s round.<\/p>\n<p>tl;dr: Square donuts have a 27% more donut per donut in the same space as a round one.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>god i love this site<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>can\u2019t argue with science.
