GATISS:<\/b> To be honest, I put [an explanation of Redbeard] into the first draft of [The Sign of Three<\/i>], and actually explained it\u2014the reason that Sherlock was behaving like a child was because, once upon a time, he\u2019d fallen for that story that your bunny rabbit has gone to live on a farm somewhere. And then we thought, \u2018No, let\u2019s hold it back because we can tease it a bit.\u2019<\/i> And we genuinely thought, \u2018We can keep this running for years.\u2019<\/i> But then actually\u2026<\/p>\n

MOFFAT:<\/b> It\u2019s nice to have resolved it.<\/p>\n

GATISS:<\/b> So the truth is that when he was little \u2014 and obviously Mycroft tormented him about it \u2014 is that his dog died, and he totally fell for the idea that Redbeard had gone to live in a happy valley somewhere.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

JOHN<\/strong>\u00a0(bewildered)<\/em>: The rabbit?<\/p>\n

SHERLOCK<\/strong>\u00a0(to Stapleton, as she stares at him blankly)<\/em>: Disappeared from inside a locked hutch, which was always suggestive.<\/p>\n

JOHN:<\/strong> The\u00a0rabbit<\/em>?<\/p>\n

SHERLOCK:<\/strong> Clearly an inside job. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0[x<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
