Yeah! I did\/didn\u2019t want Gareth to be the one playing that guy. I mean, on one hand, IANTO! But on the other, what the hell is this place and I\u2019d hate for even a fragment of Ianto\u2019s consciousness to be trapped somewhere interminably.<\/p>\n

I keep wondering if it\u2019s a branch of The Library, and all of these people are saved information. But what for?<\/p>\n

Part of me keeps trying to make the enthusiastically curious part (the one chewing on this question) sit the fuck down. Because I don\u2019t expect a satisfying payoff for the work of trying to figure it out.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s probably going to wind up being some kind of strange time-snatcher, coming from a fraction of the Doctor\u2019s personality (Right now, I\u2019d contend that \u2018Twelve\u2019 isn\u2019t actually \u2018Twelve\u2019 either. 11 was actually the twelfth incarnation of that time lord, which means between 11 and whoever the \u2018Doctor\u2019 becomes next is the timeframe where that Time Lord\u2019s personality is supposed to split. In which case, Capaldi\u2019s not playing the Twelfth Doctor, he\u2019s playing the fragment of the personality that is enough of the Doctor to still think he is the Doctor. I\u2019ve been saying that this new woman in charge of \u2018Paradise\u2019 is another part of the personality split\u2014though I am seriously doubting that moffat and co is so clever anymore.)<\/p>\n

*cough* Anyway, it\u2019s probably just a transmat beam happening right at the instance of death that teleports them to a trans-time space. What the purpose of kidnapping these individuals is for, I\u2019m not sure. But, making them consider themselves dead would prevent them from rioting\/causing fuss and presenting them with a bit of space and calling it \u2018Paradise\u2019 would be enough to placate them.<\/p>\n

Question becomes: What the hell do you want with a bunch of should-be dead people? Knowing Doctor Who? They\u2019ll probably write it off as some weird quantum phenomena that they barely understand or make up.<\/p>\n

Creatively though, that idea gets some juices going, doesn\u2019t it? What do you do with a bunch of people or souls or whatevers that ought to be dead and aren\u2019t? Where\u2019s the profit, the bonus, the need, or the desire to snatch people in that last second? Why do it?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I really really like your theory. The whole paradise thing (“and death in heaven” ) is the thing that worries me the most about the season that I’ve enjoyed the most in a long time. <\/p>\n
