It had\u00a0<strong>a rib cage 2ft wide<\/strong>, allowing it to eat whole crocodiles, and surrounding the ribcage were muscles so powerful that\u00a0<strong>it could crush a rhino<\/strong>.\u00a0Titanoboa was so big it couldn\u2019t even spend long amounts of time on land, because the force of gravity acting on it would cause it to suffocate under its own weight.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019m so glad they aren\u2019t around<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>omg me too. I\u2019m scared enough of 26 ft long anacondas. I\u2019m so happy Megalodons, those giant sharks, aren\u2019t alive either<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Praise natural selection<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I remember watching Walking with Beasts or something similar, or some British tv show about evolution<\/p>\n<p>The subject was something like a 12 foot long water scorpion<\/p>\n<p>I was so startled by its sudden appearance and narration that I yelped: \u201c12 fucking feet?!?! \u00a0I\u2019m fucking glad it\u2019s extinct!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dude, prehistory was home to some fucking\u00a0<strong>TERRIFYING\u00a0<\/strong>creatures. For some reason, everything back then was enormous and scary. Extinction doesn\u2019t always have to be a bad thing!<\/p>\n<p>And Poppy, what you saw was an arthropod known as\u00a0Pterygotus (it was actually featured in Walking With <strong>Monsters<\/strong>). Not only was it as big (or maybe even bigger) than your average human, it had a stinger the size of a lightbulb.
