Dude just shot Steve THREE times and it means absolute shit to Steve in terms of his feelings for Bucky. He hears Bucky scream and looks down, finds him trapped.<\/p>\n<p>Steve is bleeding like fuck, exhausted, in pain, and the goddamn helicarrier is plummeting out of the sky, ON FIRE, and probably about to fucking explode. <\/p>\n<p>But Steve didn\u2019t plan on getting off anyway. He<em> told<\/em> Maria to fire. <\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s completed his mission. Saved millions. He\u2019s done.<br \/>At this point, Steve is ready to die. Steve\u2019s been out of the ice for two years. In two years, he\u2019s seen an alien invasion, tried to go back to being a soldier but failed, and then watched the organization he died to stop come back from the dead, with his best friend as their pet killer.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, Steve\u2019s a soldier who\u2019s just fucking exhausted. He\u2019s had it. He\u2019s\u00a0<em>done<\/em>. And he\u2019s with Bucky, which is all that matters. So he\u2019ll go down there one last time, and he\u2019ll free Bucky from that beam, and they\u2019ll die together \u2014 two relics from a time when the world wasn\u2019t quite so insane.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There\u2019s also the fact that death would be a release for Bucky. If Steve can\u2019t save Bucky, which is what he\u2019s been trying so hard to do, then at least he can free him by letting him die.<\/p>\n<p>Til the end of the line. And this is it.
