They are especially keen to show us the nasty bits: what it really looks like when dead people don\u2019t die, what it looks like to kill the undead, and the evil it spawns in those left alive. It\u2019s gruesome.\u00a0The show is a gore orgy. But armpit hair on women?\u00a0Apparently that\u2019s just gross.<\/p>\n<p>Gender ideology lost this battle with realism, we\u2019d see armpit hair on the women in\u00a0<em>Gilligan\u2019s Island<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Planet of the Apes<\/em><em>,<\/em><em>The Blue Lagoon<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Waterworld,<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<em>Lost<\/em>\u00a0and, yes,\u00a0<em>The Hunger Games \u2013 <\/em>but we don\u2019t. (Thanks to\u00a0Ariane Lange at Buzzfeed for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/arianelange\/armpit-hair-ew\" target=\"_blank\">the whole collection<\/a>\u00a0and to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/uheartdanny\/status\/539193823621312515\" target=\"_blank\">@uheartdanny<\/a>\u00a0for the link.)<\/p>\n<p>At least Rosita could conceivably\u00a0<em>have<\/em>\u00a0a razor.\u00a0How do women supposedly\u00a0shave their armpits on deserted islands?\u00a0Did the Beast slip Belle a razor, you know, just as part of his controlling personality? And maybe some persnickety women would continue to shave even if they were lost in purgatory, but Ripley in\u00a0<em>Alien?<\/em>\u00a0Come on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"1b\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-65346\" height=\"384\" src=\"http:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2014\/12\/1b-500x384.jpg\" width=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our interest in realism only goes so far.
