My roommate at the time had to spend almost 48 hours in lock up because she didn\u2019t have her driver\u2019s license on her. She was released immediately as soon as she saw a judge because, of course, it is not a crime to not have id on your person. But it took almost two full days for her to see a judge to make that determination. I\u2019m fairly certain that is what that beat does everyday. They round up a group of people that count towards the cop\u2019s quota but will never be charged with anything (because they didn\u2019t really do anything). It\u2019s like catch and release fishing.
