With Valentine\u2019s Day just around the corner, we decided to give some of the less-well-known ships in the fandom some love. Have you always wanted to read a Moriarty\/Mycroft fic? Or do you daydream about what it would be like if Molly and Irene had gone to the same all-girl\u2019s school? Do you long for some smutty Sherlock\/Moriarty? Well, now\u2019s your chance to share your rare pair with the world! We used AO3\u2019s statistics to work out the top 5 ships within the BBC Sherlock fandom: John\/Sherlock, Mycroft\/Lestrade, Mary\/John, Sherlock\/Molly and Moriarty\/Moran.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the purposes of this contest, you may enter fics that feature any pairings besides these five! So, bring on the Lestrolly, Johncroft, Sherstrade, Adlock and more. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The fics do not need to be explicitly romantic and\/or sexual, but they must focus on characters outside the main ships. No Sherlock\/John friendship fics, for example.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p><b>Due Date:<\/b><\/p>\n<p> Tuesday, March 24th, 11:59 PM EST.<\/p>\n<p><b>Rules:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entries must fit the above theme in a recognisable way. If you have any questions about the theme, or any other questions, please ask us (<a href=\"http:\/\/fuckyeahteenlock.tumblr.com\/ask\" target=\"_blank\">here.<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>All ratings, universes, genres, etc. are acceptable, so long as the fic falls into one of this blog\u2019s four AUs: <b>kid, teen, uni and\/or parentlock.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Entries must be between 1,000 and 10,000 words, but authors may add more to their fics later if they choose. Additional content won\u2019t be scored.<\/li>\n<li>Participants must provide a valid email address or tumblr account when submitting their entry so we can inform them of their flawless victory.<\/li>\n<li>Your fic must be uploaded to some medium we can link, be it tumblr, fanfiction.net, archiveofourown, etc. If you need help signing up for\/locating these resources, please ask. You must include a link to the fic and a title in your submission, but you are welcome to include other information (trigger warnings, summary, rating, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><b>Submissions are to be made through the submissions tab in our sidebar, and clearly state that this is a contest entry<\/b>. If you have trouble using\/locating the submissions page, please let us know.<\/li>\n<li>No anonymous submissions or late entries.<\/li>\n<li>No previously written works.<\/li>\n<li>Only one entry per contestant is permitted.<\/li>\n<li>Contestants may not change their entry after submitting it but they may edit their entry until the due date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Prizes:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will all receive a custom fic cover for their entry, designed by Grace, and a review of their fic on the blog.<\/li>\n<li>The 1st place winner will receive a fic written by one of the mods for any prompt\/pairing\/etc they desire. Examples of fics written for previous winners are (<a href=\"http:\/\/archiveofourown.org\/works\/834966\/chapters\/1589757\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) and (<a href=\"http:\/\/archiveofourown.org\/works\/769987\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.) We reserve the right to refuse certain prompts if they\u2019re disturbing and\/or triggering.<\/li>\n<li>Some entries, including non-winners, may also receive reviews on the blog.
