Isn\u2019t it, Shw<i>urw<\/i>ack?<br \/><b>John:<\/b> This is quite the turn up, isn\u2019t it, Sherlock.<br \/><b>Moriarty:<\/b> WH<b>AT wo<i>ul<\/i><\/b><i>d you liii-ii<\/i>ike me to mA<b>kE hi<\/b>m sAY nEX<i><b>T<\/b><\/i>!<br \/><b>John:<\/b> What would you like me to make him say next.<br \/><b>Moriarty:<\/b> *Singing* G<b>ot<\/b>tle oo<i>o\u2019 ge<\/i>eeer, <i>G<\/i>ottle ooo\u2019 ge<b>ee<\/b>er\u2026!<br \/><b>John:<\/b> Gottle o\u2019 geer. Gottle o\u2019 geer.<\/p>\n<p>Finally Moriarty is like, \u2018Ok, I\u2019m too fabulous for this,\u2019 and joins the party in person.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I finally googled this phrase (I always thought it was \u201cgrottle of gear\u201d and just a nonsense phrase) and found this:<\/p>\n<p><i>One difficulty ventriloquists face is that all the sounds that they make must be made with lips slightly separated. For the labial sounds f, v, b, p, and m, the only choice is to replace them with others. A widely-parodied example of this difficulty is the \u201cgottle o\u2019 gear\u201d, from the reputed inability of less skilled practitioners to pronounce \u201cbottle of beer\u201d.[8] If variations of the sounds th, d, t, and n are spoken quickly, it can be difficult for listeners to notice a difference.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>So, Moriarty was mocking John as being nothing more than a ventriloquist\u2019s dummy. I never got that before.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>All accurate.
