I\u2019ve deleted the comments from AO3, but I do keep all my emails.<\/p>\n<p>It bothers me a bit, but I can ignore it. I\u2019m honestly more worried about someone who is not as secure in their writing getting a message like this and it making them stop. I also don\u2019t want to turn off anon commenting.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, this is very not good.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Threats of physical violence is very serious indeed. This person doesn\u2019t have the courage of their convictions to be of anon but then if he\/she made these kind of threats off anon they would be in a shit load of trouble.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2026<br \/>I love A\/B\/O fics.<\/p>\n<p>know why? BECAUSE of the sexism! Not as in\u00a0\u201coh, I enjoy sexism\u201d, I\u2019m a female presenting engineer, I fucking hate sexism. But here in the real world, sexism is seldom as blatant and obvious. I don\u2019t often get to hear\u00a0\u201cyou belong at home, you should be pregnant and cooking for your husband and three kids\u201d. I get subtle stuff, like\u00a0\u201cyour grades are really good, for a woman\u201d. Or even more subtle, not mentioning gender, just implying it.<\/p>\n<p>In A\/B\/O verses, omegas are treated worse than women in my country and my social groups. They suffer and everybody knows it\u2019s wrong to treat them this way. Even if they really go out of their mind once a month, it doesn\u2019t change that locking them up and keeping them\u00a0\u201cbarefoot and pregnant\u201d and deciding what\u2019s \u201cthe best for them\u201d is wrong. It\u2019s obvious, it screams at you from every line in those\u00a0\u2018verses. And even in those worlds, there always are the alphas who support their omega in being who they want to be, who don\u2019t give a shit about people making fun of them for\u00a0\u201cbowing to the stupid little omega\u201d, there are allies and empowered omegas and alphas who treat omegas just like people and it\u2019s amazing and gives hope when facing subtle litte fucking comments every day.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t let comments like those get to you.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Thank you for this! I am very conscience about consent in all of my omegaverse fics and write them very much with this sort of thing in mind. It\u2019s part of why <a href=\"http:\/\/archiveofourown.org\/works\/1286017\" target=\"_blank\">Mycroft\u2019s Choice<\/a> is so important to me. I was aware about halfway through that I could replace\u00a0\u201cFemale\u201d with\u00a0\u201cOmega\u201d and it would be the same story.
