They actually tested me for a learning disability in high school because I was consistently failing math. <\/p>\n

They discovered that I actually scored in the 80th percentile in that sort of learning. <\/p>\n

Problem was, in every other subject, I was in the 99.8th percentile. <\/p>\n

I had never learned how to study because I never needed to\u2014and then, when something proved to be even the slightest bit challenging, my brain went <\/p>\n

\u201cLOL nope this is impossible abort\u201d <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, this entire time I\u2019m scraping by in subjects like English. The assignments I did turn in, I\u2019d score top marks\u2014but I\u2019d avoid turning in projects I didn\u2019t think were \u201cgood\u201d enough. <\/p>\n

Essentially, my brain had two settings: \u201c100%\u201d or \u201c0%\u201d. <\/p>\n
