I\u2019ve usually heard the theory that she\u2019s in denial about it. Or that she only saw the yelling or whatever and Ianto tried to hide the physical abuse from her. (Because when has our poor troubled cinnamon roll ever been good about going to others about his problems?)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yep, in denial.\u00a0 I think she was there when things were happening, but girls want to see their dads as heroes, so I can see her lying to herself about it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I always think it could have been a little of both. Ianto probably tried to protect her from a lot of their Dad\u2019s abuse, he tends to take on misery so others don\u2019t have to. She also might have been the\u00a0\u201cfavourite\u201d so she didn\u2019t get as much of it. And what she did see, she\u2019s in denial about for previously discussed reasons.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019ve always thought that it would be very likely that Ianto was abused because of him being autistic.\u00a0 There are(sadly enough)a lot of parents that will abuse their autistic children and not their neurotypical children,so it could be very possible that Rhiannon didn\u2019t experience any abuse and it was just Ianto who experienced the abuse.\u00a0\u00a0 Now keep in mind that I\u2019m not trying to justify it at all(I\u2019m autistic myself). <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That\u2019s a very good point, actually. I also have a head canon that he\u2019s mildly Austistic and that\u2019s probably why I relate to him so well. That definitely could have been part of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
