Midwestern and Scandinavian? EVERYTHING IN A CASSEROLE.\ud83d\ude1d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What is a casserole, you ask?<\/p>\n

1. Protein. Chicken, tuna, last night\u2019s whatever.<\/p>\n

2. Starch. Cooked Noodles or rice, generally. This\u00a0\u201cstretches\u201d how many people the dish will serve.<\/p>\n

3. Binder. This is the sauce. Brown gravy, red sauce, or the favorite white sauce (classic French Bechamel), which is made from butter, flour and milk. You can also add in some canned soup, mayonnaise or sour cream for a little flavor (read: salt and\/or fat)<\/p>\n

4. Topping. Crunchy and\/or cheesy. Cracker crumbs, crumbled chips, shredded cheese.<\/p>\n

Directions: Mix the first three together. Season to taste (add salt. Trust me.), dump it in a greased dish, top with the fourth. Bake at 350 for half an hour to an hour.<\/p>\n

You have made a casserole.<\/p>\n
