How cute ?? ?<\/li>\n<li>her brain was so layered and complex that she reduced the<br \/>\nSorting Hat to Wall-E deciding which beaten up cup to put the spork into<br \/>\n(forks? Spoons? I DO NOT KNOW!). He finally decided Gryffindor, but 5.5 a minute<br \/>\nHatstall is pretty amazing.<\/li>\n<li>most <i>outstanding <\/i>student<br \/>\nin her year<\/li>\n<li>square specs = hot af<\/li>\n<li>head girl. Whoomp.<\/li>\n<li>sixth\/seventh year mcgonagall befriended 1<sup>st<\/sup>\/2<sup>nd<\/sup><br \/>\nyear pamona sprout. If that\u2019s not some adorable shit I don\u2019t know what is???<\/li>\n<li>Outstandings in every OWL and NEWT ?? amazing<\/li>\n<li>won <i>transfiguration today\u2019s<\/i><br \/>\nmost promising newcomer award which is p damn impressive<\/li>\n<li>also, SHE\u2019S A FUCKING cat ANIMAGUS, became one as a STUDENT<\/li>\n<li>Quidditch! Minerva the badass quidditch player pls &amp; thank<\/li>\n<li>was offered an amazing job right out of school but was like, yes<br \/>\npls, but I want to spend one more summer with my family, can you hold the job?<\/li>\n<li>And then she falls in love, right? and it\u2019s all so great. Except<br \/>\nshe lays up all night examining whether or not she is making the right choice.<br \/>\nShe <i>knows <\/i>she does not want her<br \/>\nmother\u2019s life, wand away, hiding who she is. Even though it hurts, she doesn\u2019t<br \/>\ngive in to societal conventions and is true to herself. She chooses a career rather<br \/>\nthan sacrifice who she is to be a farmer\u2019s wife.<\/li>\n<li>Excels in her ministry job, this thing she\u2019s worked toward for<br \/>\nseven years, but she\u2019s not happy with it, right? So does she feel trapped by<br \/>\nit? NO. She goes and find something else.<\/li>\n<li>had zero tolerance for the Ministry\u2019s underlying prejudice and<br \/>\nengrained bias against Muggleborns and Muggles<\/li>\n<li>she owls Hogwarts in the middle of the year like YO! Do you have<br \/>\na job for me? And they owled her back within hours. Um, yes, we basically made<br \/>\na position for you. Here you go. (Have you heard of any other teachers having prot\u00e9g\u00e9s<br \/>\nunder them? No.)<\/li>\n<li>Became head of her department approximately five months after<br \/>\ntaking the teaching position at Hogwarts<\/li>\n<li>\u2018if she kept letters from Douglas McGregor locked in a box under<br \/>\nher bed, this was (she told herself firmly) better than keeping her wand locked<br \/>\nunder there. EXCUSE ME while I go weep. She\u2019s suffering with this broken hear,<br \/>\nbut she does not let it destroy her. She carries on? ?? GRIT. This lady has<br \/>\ngrit.<\/li>\n<li>Also she confides in one albus Dumbledore when he catches her<br \/>\nweeping. Them having confidence-exchanging conversations late into the night is<br \/>\ncanon.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Stop for a minute and picture with me: the death of the love of<br \/>\nher life and the end of the war, and her old friend proposes and she <i>says yes<\/i>. They get married and live in<br \/>\nthis tiny cottage in Hogsmeade. And they are happy ? She opens herself up to<br \/>\nlove? And marriage? I LOVE HER.<\/li>\n<li>her story is more than who she falls in love with<\/li>\n<li>did not cut off Elphinstone as a friend after he turned down her<br \/>\nproposal, but also didn\u2019t give in and say yes when it didn\u2019t feel right. Instead<br \/>\nshe was all I don\u2019t feel that way, can we be mates?<\/li>\n<li>approximately thirteen thousand ways to show her displeasure<br \/>\n(has zero tolerance for bullshit)<\/li>\n<li>Is only in her 30s when the marauders come to town<\/li>\n<li>she survived the<br \/>\nmarauders<\/li>\n<li>all four of them. In her house. For four years. She survived<br \/>\nthat.<\/li>\n<li>She also survived the first Wizarding War. She fought in the<br \/>\nOrder of the Phoenix, working actively against Voldemort, to great personal<br \/>\nrisk.<\/li>\n<li>figured out where the dursleys lived and stalked #4 for an<br \/>\nentire day because she knew dumbledore best and knew that was where he would<br \/>\nbring harry, if the rumors were true<\/li>\n<li>stood up to albus dumbledore\u2019s plan, aka, advocated for what she<br \/>\nknew would be a shitty childhood<\/li>\n<li>SHE IS ALSO A<br \/>\nFUCKING FEMINIST IN THE 1980s. \u2018I will keep my name, thanks\u2019 and that\u2019s perfect.<br \/>\n\u2018traditionalists sniffed\u2019 which to me means the <i>Prophet\u2019s <\/i>society column had a damn thing to say about it.<\/li>\n<li>She was auntie M and her nieces and nephews visited her<br \/>\nfrequently and I am certain she had little beds for them and a biscuit tin and<br \/>\nmade them needlework and she is <i>so <\/i>great<br \/>\n????????<\/li>\n<li>Her husband <i>died <\/i>and<br \/>\nshe just, carried on? She suffered but kept it private, and just moved forward<br \/>\nwith her life and threw herself into her children. Not the healthiest of coping<br \/>\nmechanisms, but she did what she knew how to do to survive. GRIT.<\/li>\n<li>Her fav color is green and she fucking <i>owns <\/i>that shit. Literally. (how many people in the books actually call him<br \/>\nAlbus?)<\/li>\n<li>she sending out hogwarts letters to all the first years<\/li>\n<li>is in charge of wrangling first years, introducing them to<br \/>\nschool, etc etc<\/li>\n<li>catches harry flying and is all, yep, you\u2019re our new seeker. Suck<br \/>\nit, Slytherin. I\u2019m going to give you probably the first compliment you\u2019ve had<br \/>\nin your life. here\u2019s the bestest, fastest broomstick money can buy. I\u2019ve made<br \/>\narrangements with Dumbledore for you to have it.<\/li>\n<li>Professor McGonagall peered sternly over her glasses at Harry. \u2018I<br \/>\nwant to hear your training hard, Potter, or I may change my mind about<br \/>\npunishing you.\u2019 Then she suddenly smiled. \u2018Your father would have been proud,\u2019<br \/>\nshe said. \u2018He was an excellent Quidditch player himself.\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Minerva\u2019s love for Quidditch and her desire to see Slytherin<br \/>\neviscerated is one of my fav things about her, tbh. You take her interactions with Umbridge,<br \/>\nfor instance (I will get there, no worries), and see the shade she can deliver.<br \/>\nYou know 99.99% of the disdainful insults in her head stay there.<\/li>\n<li>Giving points to harry and ron after they defeated the troll<\/li>\n<li>god damn she had<br \/>\nto take over hogwarts when\u00a0<i>shit got tough\u00a0<\/i>because albus never left<br \/>\nfor a jaunty vacation or anything. it was more like: lolz i\u2019m leaving, have<br \/>\nfun, k? and she\u2019s all <i>godfuckingdamnitalbus<\/i><\/li>\n<li>that motherfucking sentient chess set was amazing<\/li>\n<li>needlepoint is one of her canon hobbies. There<br \/>\nis no evidence at all that Potter has done anything wrong.\u2019<\/li>\n<li>when she pulls harry and ron to the hospital wing to tell them<br \/>\nabout Hermione in person, rather than letting them hear about it secondhand<\/li>\n<li>her absolute impatience for Lockhart tho, and the way she<br \/>\nvoluntells him to go find the Chamber to get him out of the way<\/li>\n<li>she has to listen to albus Dumbledore at the end of every one of<br \/>\nharry potter\u2019s school years explain what happened and she\u2019s just slack-jawed<br \/>\nbecause potter <i>tried <\/i>to tell her, but<br \/>\nshe didn\u2019t listen, and albus, the bastard, <i>knew<br \/>\nwhat was going to happen<\/i>, and she just rolls with it. I mean I think she<br \/>\nprobably gives him stern lectures, but she deals with it all the same<\/li>\n<li>the werewolf Remus lupin comes to Hogwarts and she doesn\u2019t make<br \/>\nhim feel ostracized. She chats with him genially at the table his first day.<\/li>\n<li>went to bat for Hermione, vouched for her, and provided her with<br \/>\na time-turner so she can take all the classes she wants<\/li>\n<li>being genuinely put out when she doesn\u2019t get a standing ovation<br \/>\nfor turning into an Animagus<\/li>\n<li>reassures harry that he <i>isn\u2019t<br \/>\n<\/i>going to die, but if he does die, he needn\u2019t hand in his homework<\/li>\n<li>she\u2019s prepared to tell Harry the reason Sirius Black is chasing<br \/>\nafter him<\/li>\n<li>she concedes to his reasoning about Quidditch practice, because <i>it would be nice to win <\/i>and who knows<br \/>\nwhat she had to bribe Madame Hooch with to supervise Harry\u2019s practice<\/li>\n<li>the genuine apology she gives harry when she tells him he cannot<br \/>\ngo to Hogsmeade<\/li>\n<li>She definitely wept as she had that Firebolt stripped down, but<br \/>\nshe did it anyway because <i>she loves harry<br \/>\n<\/i>and protecting him is Number One Priority<\/li>\n<li>Mcgonagall\u2019s flaring nostrils when she wants to lose her shit,<br \/>\nbut doesn\u2019t<\/li>\n<li>She has no respect for Trelawney\u2019s line of work but she tries to<br \/>\nbe respectful of Trelawney herself and not say anything against her in front of<br \/>\ntheir students. She doesn\u2019t always succeed in hiding her impatience, but she<br \/>\ndoes try.<\/li>\n<li>she is on Lee Jordan\u2019s case at every Quidditch match but she<br \/>\nnever makes him stop because she <i>knows <\/i>he\u2019s<br \/>\nfunny as hell<\/li>\n<li>mcgonagall getting riled up at the Quidditch match and shaking<br \/>\nher fist furiously is the best<\/li>\n<li>shouting with peeves at the beginning of Goblet of Fire and she<br \/>\nis one of the few teachers who will actually deal with him<\/li>\n<li>0% intimidated by alastor moody. Bawls him out for turning draco<br \/>\ninto a ferret when most people wouldn\u2019t dare<\/li>\n<li>in GoF she is so tense when the other schools are arriving that<br \/>\nharry takes notice. she is strict, but she rarely loses her composure and snaps<br \/>\nat students if it\u2019s not warranted. It\u2019s a rare occurrence.<\/li>\n<li>she believes Dumbledore, and also harry, that he didn\u2019t put his<br \/>\nname in the goblet<\/li>\n<li>the pep talk he gives her before the first task makes me weep<br \/>\nevery time, ok? Just do your best, let me squeeze your shoulder because I\u2019m a<br \/>\nconcerned mum. GOOD LUCK, HARRY, she says with a shaking voice. Mum mcgonagall<br \/>\nbeing concerned for her babe.<\/li>\n<li>telling he doesn\u2019t have a choice about getting a date for the<br \/>\nYule ball (lmao every single time)<\/li>\n<li>Her nearly crying when harry recounts his attack from barty jr<\/li>\n<li>Also she is cheering and waving afterwards and tells him he did<br \/>\nan excellent job. Praise from McGonagall was rare, but she gave it when it was<br \/>\nwarranted.<\/li>\n<li>Bawls out the minister of magic for letting a damn dementor into<br \/>\nthe castle<\/li>\n<li>believes harry immediately about Voldemort returning. Does not<br \/>\nquestion his version of events even a tiny little bit. Jumps right back into<br \/>\nthe Order of the Phoenix.<\/li>\n<li>She rode a tiger into the great hall fifth year year (at least<br \/>\nin the Australian version.)<\/li>\n<li>In 5<sup>th<\/sup> year when she tells harry to fucking keep his<br \/>\nhead down around people like umbridge. She\u2019s genuinely telling him I KNOW,<br \/>\nRIGHT? But also STFU, son. AND HAVE A BISCUIT.<\/li>\n<li>No one has ever been owned as badly as mcgonagall mcbadass owned<br \/>\nd j umbridge during her inspection and during harry\u2019s career conference and<br \/>\nduring the entirety of the book, actually<\/li>\n<li>The way she defended harry, and encouraged, him. \u2018I will make<br \/>\nsure you\u2019re an auror if I personally have to tutor you, harry\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Her telling the kids that their OWL results will be a reflection<br \/>\nof the new regime, but that shouldn\u2019t stop them from doing their best<\/li>\n<li>went to bat for harry when umbridge was being umbridge about<br \/>\nharry being an auror<\/li>\n<li>believed Harry about his dream about Arthur, even when it made no<br \/>\nsense, and ensured the weasleys got to dumbledore\u2019s office so they could gtfo<br \/>\nthe castle safely<\/li>\n<li>the way she went out of the castle to defend hagrid. HOW DARE<br \/>\nYOU! It took four people STUNNING HER IN THE BACK to bring her down (as if they<br \/>\ncould have gotten her in broad daylight)<\/li>\n<li>\u2018it unscrews the other way, peeves\u2019<\/li>\n<li>Immediately jumps to Trelawney\u2019s defense, even if she thinks the<br \/>\nwoman is a fraud<\/li>\n<li>Um hello making Harry captain of the team<\/li>\n<li>Arranging all her 3<sup>rd<\/sup> &amp; 6<sup>th<\/sup> year<br \/>\nstudents\u2019 schedules on the first day of school (in addition to teaching her own<br \/>\ndamn classes)<\/li>\n<li>The entire way she dealt with Neville including 1. Apologize for<br \/>\nnot being able to let him into her NEWT class 2. Finding an alternative for him<br \/>\n3. Telling him she\u2019d handle his gran<\/li>\n<li>Remembering that harry wanted to be an Auror and ensuring he had<br \/>\nthe proper classes to pursue that career, and then \u2018Potter, take Weasley with you. He looks far too<br \/>\nhappy over there.\u2019<\/li>\n<li>she is bellatrix\u2019s mirror, in some ways, generals on opposing<br \/>\nsides of the war.<\/li>\n<li>She didn\u2019t immediately dismiss Harry when he<br \/>\naccused Malfoy of cursing the necklace that incapacitated Katie. She patiently<br \/>\nwaited for his explanation and <i>then <\/i>told<br \/>\nhim why it wasn\u2019t possible.<\/li>\n<li>10\/10 gift for shutting down people\u2019s bullshit<\/li>\n<li>Gave up her Saturday mornings for months every spring to watch<br \/>\nincompetent sixth years learn how to Apparate<\/li>\n<li>THE FIFTEEN HIGHLY UNPLEASANT MINUTES harry spends in her<br \/>\ncompany, telling him he\u2019s lucky not to have been expelled and that she supports<br \/>\nhis punishment. She loves Quidditch but she will never, ever support her boys<br \/>\nhurting another student.<\/li>\n<li>After Dumbledore died, Hogwarts had been attacked, but she leapt<br \/>\ninto action, taking command of the situation, sending people to the Hospital<br \/>\nWing, summoning Molly and Arthur<\/li>\n<li>called him\u00a0<i>harry\u00a0<\/i>after<br \/>\ndumbledore died, and it was short lived, but <i>still<\/i><\/li>\n<li>the way she asked Hagrid what he thought, about whether to close<br \/>\nHogwarts. \u2018professor Dumbledore always valued our views,\u2019 said Professor<br \/>\nMcGonagall kindly, \u2018and so do i.\u2019<\/li>\n<li>she ushered harry out of her office so scrimgeour couldn\u2019t<br \/>\ninterrogate him<\/li>\n<li>she stays at Hogwarts after Dumbledore dies. It\u2019s voldemort\u2019s<br \/>\nregime, but she stays here, the only home she\u2019s ever loved, to try and keep her<br \/>\nstudents as safe as she can, as best as she can.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhy would<br \/>\nHarry Potter try to get inside Ravenclaw Tower! Potter belongs in my House!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>she means so much to harry that he successfully cast a CRUCIATUS<br \/>\nCURSE BECAUSE SOMEONE SPIT ON HER.<\/li>\n<li>Biggest hypocrite for lecturing anyone about being idiotically honorable<br \/>\nbecause she is the noblest of noble babies: \u201cOnly<br \/>\nthe difference between truth and lies, courage and cowardice,\u201d said Professor<br \/>\nMcGonagall, who had turned pale, \u201ca difference, in short, which you and your<br \/>\nsister seem unable to appreciate. But let me make one thing very clear. You are<br \/>\nnot going to pass off your many ineptitudes on the students of Hogwarts. I<br \/>\nshall not permit it.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Basically the entire chapter on THE SACKING OF SEVERUS<br \/>\nSNAPE. \u00a0Including:<\/li>\n<li>Finally learns her lesson and believes harry james potter<br \/>\n(finally!) when he warns of eminent danger<\/li>\n<li>agrees to stall Voldemort so Harry can look for an object because<br \/>\nhe\u2019s on a mission and cannot tell her about it.<\/li>\n<li>Confronts snape. Sacks snape. With style.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI shall expect you and the Slytherins in the<br \/>\nGreat Hall in twenty minutes, also,\u201d said Professor McGonagall. \u201cIf you wish to<br \/>\nleave with your students, we shall not stop you.
