I want to write a fic where Tony\u2019s just completely in love with Steve and pretty much everyone close to him knows, like, it\u2019s not a secret exactly but he knows nothing can come of it, so he doesn\u2019t talk about it. And he and Steve are close, their friendship is one of the strongest and most important in Tony\u2019s life, so he copes. But one day Steve says something about settling down, or maybe there\u2019s a woman that he seems to be getting especially close to, and Tony\u2019s just\u2026 sad. Happy for his friend, but it breaks his heart at the same time.<\/p>\n

But then Steve realizes that Tony\u2019s been sad lately, maybe sadder than usual and he somehow figures out that Tony\u2019s in love – Tony slips up, or maybe one of their mutual friends tells Steve just enough to get him to understand (or to see if Steve can figure out the rest himself and end<\/i>\u00a0this). And Steve is indignant<\/i>, just flat-out furious that this person doesn\u2019t love Tony back. Cue Steve coddling Tony and making loud and pointed comments about people who wouldn\u2019t know a good thing if it bit them on the ass and trying to reassure Tony that he\u2019s loved, that he deserves better than some blind, ignorant jerk who clearly<\/i>\u00a0doesn\u2019t have the sense God gave a lemming.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone should be lucky enough to be loved by you,\u201d Steve declares fiercely.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile all of their friends are like\u00a0\u201cOh god, these fucking losers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Steve shows up ALL AT ONCE in HIGH DUDGEON to deliver a RANT about whatever asshole hasn\u2019t noticed Tony Stark<\/i>, who let\u2019s all agree is delightful but not subtle, is in love with them<\/i>, and how clearly they don\u2019t deserve him and he deserves better \u2013\u00a0<\/p>\n

And meanwhile Tony\u2019s just sat there, confused, looking at Rhodey like\u00a0\u201cWhat\u2026what do I even do with this? Should we stop him? He\u2019d want us to stop him, right?\u201d and Rhodey\u2019s all man, this is above my pay grade <\/i>and finally Clint sets off his new musical arrow he\u2019s been working on\u00a0just to make it stop.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I just have to add that I imagined Clint having an arrow that makes the world be<\/i> a musical rather than an arrow that is<\/i> musical and can that be canon now pls?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
