LOOK at this fucking gorgeous masterpiece that I commissioned from @willietheplaidjacket<\/a>. I\u2019m crying, it\u2019s so beautiful.<\/p>\n

I asked her to illustrate one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite fics, the Letters <\/i>series, by @earlgreytea68<\/a> (I did get permission). Here is the excerpt, from the Letters, Resolved<\/a><\/i> section, chapter 7:<\/p>\n

John thought that he wasn\u2019t sure he could ever get Sherlock to understand how humbled he felt by being given the gift of Sherlock the way he was with John, the way he was with no one else, Sherlock in all the vulnerable simplicity at the heart of his complexity, and John lifted his arms and tightened them around Sherlock, pressing him as close as he could get.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong?\u201d asked Sherlock, surprised, wriggling a bit in the new grip.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cI am going to love you for the rest of our lives,\u201d John promised him, roughly. \u201cI\u2019m going to make you laugh. I\u2019m going to make sure you\u2019re never bored. I\u2019m going to keep you safe.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Sherlock was silent for a moment before <\/b>shaking off John\u2019s grip just enough to pull himself up and align them so he could look down at John\u2019s face. He spent a long moment just studying John, <\/b>and then he repeated back, \u201cI am going to love you for the rest of our lives. I\u2019m going to make you laugh. I\u2019m going to make sure you\u2019re never bored. I\u2019m going to keep you safe.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

John flickered a smile at him. \u201cWell, that\u2019s that then. All settled.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
