From the time he was tiny, all he wanted to do was fly like his father. While his mother and uncle talked to him about duty and responsibility and legacy all he knew was that he was descended from some of the greatest pilots in the galaxy, so why couldn\u2019t he follow in their footsteps instead?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re destined for more than that,\u201d his mother would tell him, but he didn\u2019t care about destiny, he only cared about the brief sense of weightlessness when a ship first leaves atmo, watching the blue fade into black. He envies the freedom his father has, and even when it hurts every time he leaves, Ben never blames him.
