It\u2019s intended to be visually jarring. They\u2019ve been in surgery for so long that they didn\u2019t have the energy to get changed. They\u2019ve done so many ops that they don\u2019t even notice the blood any more. It\u2019s just par for the course, faded into the background. They don\u2019t notice it, because noticing it would mean having to think and how many mutilated bodies they\u2019ve worked through in the past 48-72 hours, and right now that can\u2019t face it. But WE notice it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Exactly. They are too tired to deal with it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Well put Piercintyre.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The whole ethos of M*A*S*H is to call attention to the brutalities of war, and the reality of it.
