He literally opened his eyes to a whole different world.<\/p>\n<p>My mind is totally blown by this.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh god, though.\u00a0Imagine Steve Rogers, <em>artist and art enthusiast<\/em>, opening his eyes and seeing the world in a full range of colours for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Rogers experimenting with coloured pencils a few days after the procedure and having a silently hysterical moment over <em>how many <\/em>different colours there are.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Steve Rogers finding time to sneak off to the National Gallery\/National Portrait Gallery\/V&amp;A while he\u2019s on shore leave in London and just <em>staring<\/em> at the classic paintings he spent years of his life studying, but now they\u2019re bright and vibrant and the reds are <em>so red<\/em> and it\u2019s all so different from the versions that exist inside his memories.<\/p>\n<p>STEVE ROGERS REDISCOVERING HOW MUCH HE LOVES ART AGAIN NOW THAT HE CAN APPRECIATE IT IN A WHOLE NEW WAY.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ARTIST STEVE ROGERS.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>omg, color-blind Steve Rogers drawing with the color pencil labeled \u201cred,\u201d and just having to TRUST that it\u2019s the right color for apples.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>no stop this is not permitted this is against regulations NO GOD DAMN IT oh god<\/p>\n<p>he still has the worn-down nubs of the colored pencils bucky got him one christmas (having to work extra hours, and don\u2019t think steve didn\u2019t notice that) and thinks of all the times he tried to draw things in changing color as the sun shifted and just<\/p>\n<p>wonders how badly he got it wrong when he drew things for bucky<\/p>\n<p>the payne\u2019s grey was always his favorite and that one does still look much the same and he takes it with him when he ships out with the uso instead of the army and later, much later, so much later he comes to wonder if that is still somewhere in the archives, if that tiny nub of colored pencil, ancient now, is still around<\/p>\n<p>DAMN YOU ALL\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ceruleancynic: potofsoup: emilianadarling: likeadisguise: Pre-serum, Steve Rogers was COLOR BLIND.
